RMSv1 Calibration

Due to variances in components and other variables like temperature, it may be necessary to calibrate the voltmeter inputs on your RMSv1 unit. The variable resistor marked RV1 on the RMSv1 circuit board is used for this purpose.

Using the diagram below as a guide:

  1. Clamp the negative probe of your DVM into any RMSv1 voltmeter GND input.

  2. Put your positive DVM probe on pin 14 of the ADC (U6) on the RMSv1 board.
(Be careful not to short any other pins together with the probe.)

  3. Turn the small screw on the variable resistor (RV1) with the supplied screwdriver until your DVM reads 5.00 volts.

Once the ADC reference is calibrated to 5.00 volts, small adjustments can be made so that the RMSv1 voltmeter matches the readings of your DVM.
